How to download an X video
Copy the link to the post and paste it in the box above. The share button gives you a link and so does your browser’s address bar. Both x.com and the older twitter.com addresses work, and the tracking parameters the share sheet adds are ignored, so you can paste whatever you have.
The file then comes from X’s own servers. All we do is look up where it lives and hand your browser the address.
About quality, and what nobody can give you
X does not keep one copy of a video. It encodes several, at different bitrates, and serves whichever fits the viewer’s connection. This tool always takes the highest of those, which is the best version that exists on the platform.
That is also the ceiling. The master the uploader started with was never published, so no downloader has access to it. A page offering HD or 4K conversion is running the same file through an upscaler, which invents pixels, grows the file, and adds no detail. We would rather tell you the limit than sell you around it.
Nothing is uploaded, because nothing needs to be
Most free downloaders pull the file onto their own servers and then pass it to you. That gives them a copy of whatever you downloaded, and it costs them bandwidth on every request, which is usually why those pages are buried in adverts.
We do not do that. The lookup asks X where the media is and your browser fetches it directly, so there is no copy on our side and no upload from yours. The one visible consequence is that browsers sometimes open the video in a new tab rather than saving it, because the file belongs to another site. Right-click and choose Save video as when that happens.
What this will not do
It will not touch protected accounts. A protected post cannot be read without being an approved follower, so there is nothing for any tool to fetch, and a site offering to do it anyway is asking for your password so it can try logging in as you. Never give a downloader your login.
It also will not make someone else’s video yours. Saving a public clip to watch offline, or resharing it with credit, is ordinary use. Reuploading it as original content is a different thing, and that is a decision about what you do next rather than about this page.
If you are saving your own clips to repost
A lot of people land here to pull their own video back out of X so they can cut it for TikTok or Reels. Worth knowing before you do: what X serves is already compressed for X, so recutting that file adds a second generation of compression. If you still have the original, edit from that instead and keep the download for reference.
