Why Instagram eats your line breaks
You write a caption with neat paragraphs, you post it, and it publishes as one solid block. This is not a bug in your phone. When Instagram saves a caption or a bio it collapses runs of whitespace, and an empty line is whitespace — there is literally nothing on it for the platform to keep.
The usual attempts fail for the same reason. Pressing space a few times on the empty line does not help, because a line containing only spaces still counts as blank. Trailing spaces at the end of a line get trimmed too. Every workaround that survives comes down to putting something on that line which is not whitespace.
What this tool actually does
It places U+2800 — the Braille pattern blank — on each empty line. That character has no visible glyph in any mainstream font, so a reader sees an empty line, but as far as Instagram is concerned the line has content and there is nothing to collapse.
The older trick was to type a period or a dot on the blank line. It works, and you can still see it in plenty of bios: a little column of stray punctuation running down the side of the text. An invisible character gets the same spacing without leaving marks in your writing.
Bios are the harder case
Captions at least let you press Enter. The Instagram app frequently will not accept a line break typed directly into the bio field at all — the return key either does nothing or closes the keyboard. Pasted text is handled differently, which is why composing somewhere else and pasting is the only reliable route.
Write your bio here, copy it, then paste the whole thing into the bio field in one go rather than typing around it. Editing afterwards inside the app is what usually destroys the spacing again.
Formatting the text itself
